About me

I am a researcher, leader, and speaker dedicated to shaping a future where technology serves people. My work in human-computer interaction explores how digital systems can be designed to be more intuitive, inclusive, and empowering. Through my research, I develop new interaction technologies that enhance the way humans and computers collaborate—ensuring that digital transformation remains human-centered.

My Mission

I believe that technology should be designed for people, with people. My mission is to create digital systems that are not only innovative but also responsible, ethical, and inclusive. In my work, I emphasize the role of humans in shaping technology rather than being shaped by it.

My Roles & Leadership

I am a Professor of Media Informatics and Multimedia Systems at the University of Oldenburg, where I lead a research team focused on developing interactive systems and computing technologies to enhance users’ lives. In addition, I serve as a Board Member of the OFFIS Institute for IT, one of Germany’s leading research institutes for computer science, where I drive innovation at the intersection of academia and industry.

Beyond my institutional roles, I actively contribute to the academic community by serving on national and international committees, advisory boards, and expert panels. My leadership extends to editorial boards, research councils, and funding commissions, where I help shape the future of digital innovation and research policy.

Speaking & Advocacy

I am a passionate speaker on the intersection of technology and society. I advocate for human-centered digital transformation, gender equality in STEM, and responsible AI. Through keynotes, panel discussions, and advisory roles in national and international committees, boards, and councils, I contribute to shaping the future of digital innovation.

Looking Ahead

My current work focuses on AI-driven interfaces, multimodal interaction, and digital accessibility, pushing the boundaries of how technology can better support human needs. I am particularly excited about how we can build more transparent, inclusive, and ethical digital systems for the future.
